Do professors hold office hours, and will they meet with you outside of class?Yes, the instructor will give the student information on how to contact him/her outside of class for class related questions.

Will I be able to take most of my first-choice classes?Yes, if course if offered during the semester, the student will be permitted to take it if it does not exceed the maximum credits hours for the semester.

Are classes lecture-based or discussion-based?Synchronous classes are lecture and discussion based. Students are required to participate and provide insight.

How much reading and writing is required in the course work?You should plan to spend at least 37.5 hours in your class per semester. On average student will spend at least 3 hour per week reading required text. classroom.

Are there any on-campus tutoring programs or writing centers?Students that need help with English, math, and other subjects, can request assistance via the instructor or registrar.

What is the student to professor ratio?Current student to professor ration is around 15/1.

Does my major require an independent study or capstone project?Students are allowed to complete independent study course if there is a instructor willing to facilitate it. Course at the undergraduate level does not require a capstone project. Master course will require a capstone project as approved by the faculty.

How many credit hours are transferable towards a degree?All credit for transfer must be analyzed by the faculty.

How many years will it take to complete a degree?Most full-time students can complete a bachelor's degree in about 4 years. Less than full time degree completion will depend on many factors. BCCS works diligently to help student achieve their degree goals in as less time as possible depending on the student’s motivation and dedication. Up to 40 Credit hours can also be award for lifetime learning experiences. See lifetime learning credit requirements.

How many weeks is required for each course completion?Most courses can be completed in 8 or 12 weeks.

What is the cost of attending the college?Associate of Art - $2800.00 Bachelor of Art - $5440.00 Master of Art – $1980.00 this degree requires 36 semester hours beyond the Bachelor of Art degree There are other fees associated with enrolling, registering and graduation. Application for Admission fee, non-refundable - $ 25.00 Graduation fee for certificate student - $ 50.00 Graduation fee for undergraduate student - $ 75.00 Graduation fee for graduate student - $100.00 Late Payment Fee - $ 25.00

Do you provide financial aid?BCCS does not offer financial aid, but on a case by case does give consideration for student that may be experiencing financial hardships. To receive a hardship exemption, a student will need to submit a justification to the President, Board of Trustees, and the Registrar

How do I enroll and register?I have registered. What happens next?All students enrolling in an online course are encouraged to contact the instructor before the course begins. Instructors typically have information to share with students prior to the start of class and may want to confirm that all students have an adequate connection to the online learning site.

What if I change my mind and want to drop my class?The date of your request to drop a class will determine your tuition liability for the semester. Should you drop a class after the deadline for a refund, the tuition and fees for that class cannot be applied, in any cases, to tuition and fees for a subsequent offering of the same class or any other class taught in a later semester. Exceptions: Course fees are nonrefundable. If you stop attending a class without officially requesting to drop it, you will not receive a refund. If you have questions about this process, please contact us. Tuition adjustment schedules To drop a course, see the course changes page. Your refund amount will be determined by the number of calendar days from the start of the session in which you are enrolled. (It is not based on the day on which you enrolled or when the class begins meeting.) For example: If your course’s session begins on January 4, days 1-3 on the refund schedule below would be January 4, 5, and 6. Refund schedule (based on session start date, see the academic calendar) Session days 1-3: Withdrawal period with a 0 percent tuition charge (100 percent refund) Session days 4-5: Withdrawal period with a 50 percent tuition charge (50 percent refund) Session day 6: Withdrawal period with a 100 percent tuition charge (no refund)

What are the technical requirements for an online class?All online courses require an internet connection. And although they may have different technical requirements, almost all online courses are offered through Zoom, Canvas, or Google Learning online presentation and web-based learning systems. Generally, you'll interact with the instructor and other students via Zoom, email, discussion boards, interactive chat rooms, video conferences, and/or phone.

What do I do if I need technical assistance?If you are having technical problems, your first contact should be the technical support. In most cases they will be able to resolve your questions. The Technical Staff will be able to direct you to the right resource if you need additional support.

How do I get access to class materials?Once you are registered, the faculty member teaching the course will contact you with instructions for accessing the course materials, syllabus, and other class information.

How do I obtain books for the course/class?Student will be given the name of the required text book and they will order it via Amazon, or any online book ordering service.

When do I have to pay?For payment deadlines, see the academic calendar for Fall, Spring, and Summer Sessions.

What are the acceptable methods of payment?Acceptable payment methods are cashier checks, money orders, credit cards, Cash app, Zelle and other electronic forms of payment. No personal checks are accepted. The amount, time, and manner of payment of tuition, fees, and other charges, may be changed at any time and without notice.

May I take a class as noncredit and pay a reduced tuition?Non degree seeking students, may audit a course, but will pay the same tuition rate as all undergraduate students. Students auditing a course are required to complete the work and attend class as other student. may audit a courseBCCS does not offer financial aid, but on a case-by-case basis, consideration is given to students that may be having financial difficulties. Student will need to submit a written request to the President, Faculty and Registrar.

Will credits I earn count towards my degree requirements?Yes. Credits earned through BCCS counts towards your degree.

How will I be graded?The criteria for grading will be established by the faculty and outlined on the class syllabus.

How do I get my grade?Approximately 10 days after the end of your class your instructor will email your grade.

Is there a class outline (syllabus)?Once you receive your registration ID, the faculty member teaching the course will contact you with instructions for accessing the course materials, syllabus, and other class information. In many cases you can find the syllabus on Canvas. If not, please contact the department offering the course.

What method will be used to teach my online class?Methods vary by course and instructor but may include pre-recorded or synchronous lectures, videos, podcasts, PowerPoint slides, interactive chat rooms, blog posts, and more. Please refer to the syllabus for your course for details about how your class will be taught.

What do I do if I have questions about an assignment?Questions about assignments or any part of the class should be directed to the faculty or teaching assistant by email or phone, or through the instructional software.

How do I get my homework assignments, test, etc?Homework, tests, paper assignments, and more will be clearly communicated on the class website as well as directly by the professor.

Will classes meet at specific time?Many online courses are delivered asynchronously via Canvas or Google Learning. You view class lectures on your own schedule and complete assignments within a scheduled time frame. You may be required to meet at set times with the faculty member. Courses are also taught synchronously, which requires you to attend lectures at a set time, or in a hybrid mode (a mix of asynchronous and synchronous).

May I begin my online class early?It is often possible to begin readings and preparation prior to the first day of class. Please work with your professor to see if this is an option for your class.

What if I can’t start the class on the date it is scheduled to begin?This will depend on whether the course is offered asynchronously or synchronously. Asynchronous classes allow students to start at a later date, but if you need to delay to start at a later date, it is best to contact the faculty member directly to see if it is possible to catch up on a couple of days' work.
